hey lots of good answers and lots of opinions of firefox. etc. IE 7 will work on laptops or desktops that makes no difference at all as long as the computer meets the requirements needed for ie 7 basically if u are running windows xp ensure u have service pak 2 installed . and then u are ok. was a few bugs in the browser at first that made it not close proper;y etc. but that was easily fixed and updates been made available since then i am running it on all of my computers. for as using firefox. Its a good web browser but alot of high intense sites are hard to open using firefox until u get all the java, active x controls , addons etc. but other than that it is a good browser and at times much faster than internet explorer. had IE7 on my old laptop (xp pro) for a long time. work fine.

IE8 out soon ( beta is out now).

Best to use fire fox, much better.

Are you on XP Home?

Have you installed SP2?

IE7 will not work without SP2.

It is nothing to do with it being a laptop.
Switch to Mozilla Firefox. You'll never look back....
if you wanna stick with IE6 download Maxthon...it's basically like a coat of armor stuck to IE...it has ad blocker..flash blocker etc

you can always go with firefox too...it's improved a lot since the early days.
Bill, laptops are all different mate but it shouldn't be a problem. Forget any version of IE though. Get firefox or opera. Both faster and have better features including better pop-up protection.

IE7 works ok on my laptop. i upgraded to 7 from 6 without any problems. though i did have trouble getting media player 11 to work from 10. but its ok now.
IE and Frefox suck, basicly they hog RAM like I hog Jack Daniels. My advice would be for you to install Opera 9. Faster than both Firefox and IE and also uses less RAM. Enjoy!
